Description
The PADI Scuba Diver course is a subset of the PADI Open Water Diver course. If you don't have much time but really want to become a diver, the PADI Scuba Diver level might be right for you, especially if you think you'll be diving primarily with a guide. If your final goal is to obtain the Open Water Diver certification, this course is an intermediate step.
PADI Scuba Divers are qualified to:
Dive to 12 metres/40 feet under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional.
Get refills, rent or purchase equipment, and participate in scuba diving activities, as long as you are properly supervised.
Continue training by earning the PADI Open Water Diver certification and enrolling in select specialty courses.
To enroll in a PADI Scuba Diver (or Junior Scuba Diver) course you must be at least 10 years old. You must have adequate swimming skills and be in good health. No previous scuba diving experience is required, but you can try the Discover Scuba Diving program first.

Academic
The PADI Scuba Diver course consists of three main phases:
Knowledge Development (online, self-study or in class) – To understand the basic principles of diving, only the first three of the five sections of the Open Water Diver course
Confined Water Dives: To learn basic diving skills, only the first three of the five dives of the Open Water Diver course.
Open Water Dives – to use your skills and explore, just two of the four dives in the Open Water Diver course.

Equipment
You will learn how to use basic equipment, including a mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, BCD and a tank. At the diving center you will be provided with all the necessary equipment.

To begin
Start by enrolling in the Scuba Diver program, you can start immediately either by studying Online with PADI eLearning or by coming to the diving center. You can buy it online or at the diving center. This computerized system provides you with the information you need to dive with confidence and, thanks to an easy-to-use, interactive program, allows you to study at your own pace. You only need to complete the first three sections but, if you decide to continue and achieve your PADI Open Water Diver certification, you have one year to complete the entire program.
To sign up for the course, collect your materials and start reading the manual/watching the video, visit our PADI Dive Center. You will get to know your PADI Instructors to schedule knowledge review sessions, confined water dives and open water dives.

It's the pre-entry certification, and it's perfect for vacationers, for those who don't have the time to participate in a normal training course or for those who only plan to dive a couple of times a year. The Scuba Diver certification is a sub-program of the Open Water Diver program.

Therefore, with the Scuba Diver certification, PADI gives the possibility to finish the course either on vacation and at home, in another PADI Centre.
