Description
Divers describe the PADI Rescue Diver course as the most challenging, but also the most satisfying, they have ever taken. Because? Because you learn to prevent and manage problems in the water, and you become more confident in your skills knowing that, in case of need, you can help others. During the course, you will learn how to become a better dive buddy by practicing problem-solving skills until they become instinctive. Also, the course is pure fun: that is, it's serious, but between training sessions it will allow you to have fun.
If you are a PADI (Junior) Adventure Diver, are at least 12 years old and have completed the Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive, you may want to enroll in the Rscue Diver course. Additionally, you must have completed an Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) course within the previous 24 months. You will be able to complete this training during the Rescue Diver course. At the same time, your instructor may offer you the PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider specialty course.

Academic
Using a variety of techniques, the PADI Rescue Diver course prepares you to handle small and large diving emergencies. Through theoretical development and rescue exercises, you will learn what to notice and how to respond. During some rescue scenarios, you will practice your knowledge and skills. Among the various topics addressed:
Self-rescue
Recognize and manage stress in other divers
Emergency management and equipment
Rescue a panicked diver
Rescue an unconscious diver
Thanks to the Rescue Diver course, you will be able to get college credit. Ask your instructor how to do it.

Equipment
You will use your basic equipment and you will need a pocket mask to practice water resuscitation. During the exercises, you will use an oxygen unit, buoys, scuba buoys and perhaps a CPR dummy. Your PADI Instructor will show you the equipment you will need, and may recommend additional ones, such as a personal first aid kit that may be useful to you during your diving career.
