17/24 August: Ancient Turkey

Published on 3 February 2022

The coast of Mediterranean Turkey is a continuous succession of bays and promontories from where ancient archaeological remains emerge that reflect their majestic architecture in landscapes painted in blue. In this fantastic scenery is the town of Kas which was only accessible by sea until the 1950s as it is an island that has only recently been connected to the rest of the world by a road. The long isolation of Kas has however allowed it to remain one of the last pristine coasts of the Mediterranean, with the town extending towards the heights of the hinterland in a suggestive labyrinth of alleys that open between white stone houses, jasmine pergolas and an enchanting marina.
